Terri James, Ph.D.
As the mother of two children, Terri James understands that all families strive for balance. Two main areas that can disrupt family balance are school difficulties and parenting stress.
When your child is struggling in school, the entire family is affected. Assessment is an important step in identifying issues impacting school performance. The goal is to present a learning plan to help the student succeed and the family to learn how to support their child. As a member of the Mind Matters team at Southeast Psych, Dr. James believes in highlighting a student’s strengths and understanding their weaknesses as the key to educational success.
Another aspect of family balance is parenting stress. Through parenting classes and personal coaching, Dr. James can help your family assess areas of strengths, identify areas of growth, and help parents develop strategies for success. As a member of Purposeful Parenting team at Southeast Psych, Dr. James takes a practical approach to help your family decrease stress and achieve family flourishing.
